I need your help coming up with some new areas for a new map I'm working on. It's a relatively small map set on a futuristic space station/space ship, but I've run out of ideas for rooms and I need some help thinking of some more. The ideas can't have windows, need to be relatively small, and fit in with the new gamemode considered too, which I'll post more about later.

So far, the rooms I either have in the map or have already thought up are:
  • Bedrooms, small and large
  • Offices
  • Dining hall
  • Storage rooms
  • A lab (more are possible)
  • Recreational rooms, computers and such
  • Kitchen
  • Central computer room
  • Pipe room

Most of the rooms are connected to a huge vent system, so it needs to accommodate for that. Here are some pictures of the map, to give you an idea of the scale the rooms should be able to fit into:


And here's an overview of the map currently, there's 3 floors: Living, work and access (pipes, computers, stuff that isn't really seen)


The gamemode is a mix between The Ship and Assasins Creed Wanted, if you've played any of those. Basically, you have a target to kill, but you can only see what they look like, and there's NPC's walking around, some of which look the same as your target. At the same time, someone else has you as their target, so you have to be able to spot players from NPC's, but also watch out for players spotting you and blend in with groups of NPC's. A successful kill will reward you with points, but if you kill the wrong person/NPC you'll lose points.

There's also datapads lying around the map in random places. Datapads are small tablet sized computers, which when captured will reward you with points, the more points you have the higher up you become in the server. A datapad is visible in the picture of the bathroom above.

You'll have a few basic perks to aid in capture and escape, but they will all use points as a base for their use, if you don't have many points, you can't use these perks for long. There are 3 perks planned: Temporary invisibility, temporary sprint and target. Temporary invisibility allows you to become invisible to all players on the map for a short period of time. The time you can go invisible depends on how many points you have. Temporary sprint gives you a quick boost to escape or capture targets, the time you can sprint for also depends on how many points you have. Target allows you to exchange points for a target icon to appear where the player was at the time you activated the perk, in order to get an updated target of a player, the perk must be activated again which uses up more points. When a perk is used the player being targeted will receive a warning, showing that they have been targeted, giving them time to get away from the area or time to go invisible if the player has been singled out from a crowd.

Estimate for the expected release/testing of this map and gamemode is about 2 weeks.

Maybe you could add a gym room, put some halters in. Maybe add some of those running things aswell.

Edit: and while you are on it make some climbable walls, because its coool  :spy:

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention I was limited to models I have in a pack from ported Mass Effect 2 models, so stuff like that isn't really possible unless I want to add another huge model pack.

Things is there any chance I can have a sv/dropbox link to the current package content so i can have the majority of it before release or ill probs be downloading or like 2hours lol

I'll get it all together when I'm done with the map, I need to convert most of the models so they work in the map, and I'm not going to use all the content so there's no point including it all.

Some kinda engine room where theres some kinda hyper technical superduper fusion reactor, which powers electrical, which has its own little area.
A brig
A non-functional EVA room, with like jetpacks and spacesuits n' shit
Hydrophonics
Escape shuttle
Mining shuttle
Just throwing out areas found in Spacestation13, none of these have to be functional, but you get the idea.

Ok then, changed the topic title and moved the thread. More progress time!

Moving HUD, moves when you move your view. When you kill an NPC you loose points, you'll gain points for killing the correct people and bonus points for how quick you do it.


It doesn't look as great on normal GMod, because it doesn't have font blurring, but it looks decent.
