Some people just don't learn, what do you expect from EA... I mean, look at all their other titles. They spend about a week or so on one then forget about it and move on to another title or shove some awful DRM crap on it which makes more people pirate the game in an attempt to stop it.

Hence why I don't buy EA games.

EA... there starting to get rediculous, there taking credit on youtube for the 'meet the' videos. They had nothing to do with those. They run the servers for xbox and helped port it. That makes them own it? I report it everytime for fake copyright. But that is also bad, not getting spore now

I've known about this for a while now. In the first week spore was released it was the one of the most pirated games in history. The game itself if fun, but i wouldn't ever buy it  :stare: Maxis made a good game but EA ruined it with SecuRom and DRM

With all the hype about DRM they've upped the activation limit to 5 i think now.... They need to remove it

Sorry, a little uneducated here; what exactly is DRM and what does it do?

Since nobody else will explain...
SecuROM is a .exe that is included with Spore that, when installed, takes partial control of the computer the game is installed on.
It hogs processing power to send private info back to EA.
SecuROM is also known to short out CD \ DVD burners.
However, this is not mentioned in the EULA nor on the box, which makes it a form of spyware or malware.

SecuROM = Digital Rights Management = DRM

How about don't buy anything that's published by EA and you'll be alright?
