I doubt steam will go onto *nix based systems for a long time, the amount of time taken to re-code programs from using WINAPI to using.. whatever is cross platform is vast. Also to be quite honest Linux isn't for gaming, good graphics drivers are few and far between, give it 5 years or so, if it even takes off properly.
