Custom Garry's Mod Particles?

I'm making custom particles to replace the EP2 ones. I made a "particles" folder in the garrysmod/garrysmod directory, and they're not showing up. I made a custom particles_manifest.txt file, too.

Wouldn't they have to be in the EP2 folder? Not garry's mod?
... I don't even know what I'm talking about but I'm pretty sure to replace something it has to be in the game directory.
(don't think this as right, I think it is, wait for things... his map has customs'

No, if you're just doing it for Garry's Mod and not Ep2, it would be in there.

Try not replacing the EP2 ones, just copy them over and name it something else, it's probably priorities screwing you over.

Just save it, then rename it and call it in your manifest file. Change the name of the particle for the info_particle_system to the name you've given it.

No, for the Hunters and stuff...

I know there's a particle for the flette FIRE, at least.

I know there's a particle for the flette FIRE, at least.

The flachette particle effect isn't used from within the map. It's called differently.

Oh, then you'd have to replace it, which should work as long as the particles that you've made have the same names and the filename is the same.

Yeah, put it in the game's particles folder, as that overwrites the CGF file. Make sure it has the same relative path though, so if it's particles/blah/lol then put make sure the folders are like that too for the custom particle.

But Garry's Mod doesn't have a particle folder, do I just make one? Also, can you tell me the paths, I lost the GCF and don't really want to download the whole Ep2 gcf, I know it takes a loooong time.
