In this tutorial I will show you the basics of creating a simple train, I wont show you everything but enough to get you going. Anyway here it is:
Spawn two sliders and weld them together.

Line them up to the track and drop them on.

Unweld them, by pressing undo or "r" on one of the sliders. Give them a colour if you like.

Spawn a simple body, can generally use anything flat, but for this I have used the PHX train body.
Space the sliders out enough, and place the body on it then weld the body to the sliders.

Give the body a colour if you like and select the "Physical Properties" tool, select "Super Ice" and make sure "Gravity toggle" is ticked, we don't want the train floating off now.

Super ice the sliders, since otherwise these will be scraping along the ground and will make the train move slowly. If you see sparks when you move the train you haven't done it right.

I am using Wire Users for the next part, if you like you can skip this part but it allows you to quickly switch the track and open doors.
Note: You do not need the front user on botmap_v2
Select the "User" tool in the "Wire" tab. Put the Max Range around 400.

Note: In order for this to work correctly the front users I am about to show you need to be the correct height or they wont press buttons on the stoppers correctly so you will need to measure it up like so:
You will need to have a user on the bottom of the train (preferably on an angle) to switch the tracks like so:

You will also need one on the front to activate doors and the buttons on the stoppers so they will need to be measured up with the buttons on the stoppers, otherwise it wont work:

You could have one on the back if you like, so you can press doors while reversing.
You can now add some thrusters to your train if you like. Don't go over the top with thrusters, if you have loads just give them a weight, as all thrusters (except massless ones) have a weight of 1 by default, if you give it a weight of 2, it will multiply the current multiplier by the weight making it go 2X faster.

Add a seat, then weld that to the body.

I tend to weigh everything 20, so it goes faster, but is more stable. You don't have to do this.

Don't forget the "Advanced Pod Controller" to link the users and thrusters up to.
Note: Don't link the bottom user to the same key as the front (and back (although the front and back users can be linked to the same button)) or it will fail, even if you don't think it will
it does.
There you go, a simple train.
